Fez Art Residency is a collective of artists, hosts, and creative spaces throughout the UNESCO World Heritage Medina - offering a unique way to live, create, and connect in Morocco’s cultural heart.

Every residency is built around you. Whether you’re a painter, writer, performer, or photographer, we help shape a stay that reflects your creativity.

8WEEKSinFEZ is a residency and storytelling campaign hosted by Fez Art Residency that celebrates Fez as one of the world’s most creative cities - a place where tradition and imagination meet. The programme offers selected artists the time, space, and inspiration to reflect, explore, and create.

8 Weeks of free private accommodation right in the heart of Fez Medina

Over eight weeks in autumn 2025, we’ll be hosting a rotating group of Moroccan and international visual artists for free in two private apartments right in the heart of Fez Medina.

Whether two artists stay for eight weeks, sixteen artists for one week each, or something in between, the programme is flexible, and the structure is simple but powerful - a place to stay, no expectations, and a city that invites exploration and creativity.

From there, you can shape the details - choosing how long you stay, what kind of space you need, and whether to include artist-led workshops, studio visits, or cultural experiences to support your creative direction.

Confirm & Start Packing

When everything feels right, you’ll confirm your place with a deposit and receive everything you need to prepare.
Once done, it’s time to gather your materials, book your travel, and get ready to settle in. Your time in Fez begins - open-ended, unrushed, and designed to support whatever stage you’re at in your practice
